About the Owner

Leah Cash is the owner of Sweat 'n Thrive, LLC. She was a multi-sport athlete growing up, and though she enjoyed different sports, basketball became her main focus as earning a full-ride scholarship to college was the goal. Her freshman year in high school, she was 6th Man of the Year on the varsity, but a devastating ACL tear at the peak of her sophomore year ended her season and posed a mentally and physically challenging junior year.

Though Leah had a huge bounce-back senior year and was recruited once more, she made the difficult decision to not pursue collegiate basketball as complete healing of her knee and more focus on school took priority. Leah was always great student but it wasn't until starting college at San Jose State University that she realized that she didn't have a College & Career plan; basketball was no longer part of the plan, so what was "the plan"? With the determination to "figure it out", she learned how to navigate the ever-evolving road of college life and graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology. She then went on to pursue her Master's in Educational Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services Credential. Fast forward to today; Sweat 'n Thrive LLC is "the plan" and it was a part of her story all along.

In addition to being the owner of Sweat 'n Thrive LLC, Leah is also a full-time College & Career high school counselor and a player in the Women's Premier Basketball Association. Her academic and athletic experiences coupled with her counseling background created a knowledge that would become the foundation of Sweat 'n Thrive LLC. As an athlete and former coach, "Coach Leah" understands how fun and important game time is to athletes; but as an educator and counselor, she also knows how important and beneficial education and career planning is, especially at the crucial time of high school.

Through Sweat 'n Thrive LLC, Leah Cash is dedicated to helping student-athletes to not only avoid the pitfalls that she experienced, but also prepare them for the ever-changing world of academics and athletics by equipping them with the knowledge and tools to "Sweat 'n Thrive" at the next level in sports, and in life.
