About the Owner

Leah Cash was a multi-sport athlete growing up; she ran track, played basketball and flag football, and belted in Tae Kwon Do. Though she enjoyed being an extreme athlete, basketball was her main focus and going to college on a full-ride scholarship was her only goal. She made the varsity team her freshman year in high school, but she unfortunately suffered a complete ACL tear at the peak of her sophomore year; leading to her season being cut short.

After a rough comeback junior year, an even greater bounce-back senior year, and going through the NCAA process, Leah decided to not pursue a collegiate basketball career; which came as a shock to everybody. Tearing her ACL ironically brought her to the realization the "student" part of being a student-athlete was extremely important. Academics was never an issue for Leah, but it wasn't until starting college at San Jose State that she realized that she went there without a College & Career plan. Even so, she learned how to navigate the bumpy road of college life and after changing her major twice, Leah graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology. She then went on to get her Master's in Educational Counseling, along with her PPS Credential. Today, she helps many students and athletes avoid the pitfalls that she experienced and prepares them for better.

Leah is proof that the "and" exists, as she is a full-time College & Career counselor AND a player in the Women's Premier Basketball Association for the Berkeley Royals. Her academic and athletic experiences coupled with her counseling background created a knowledge that would become the foundation of Sweat 'n Thrive LLC. As an athlete and coach, "Coach Leah C." knows how fun and important sports are to athletes, but as an educator and counselor, she also knows how important and beneficial education and career planning is; especially at the crucial high school level.

Through Sweat 'n Thrive LLC, Leah Cash is dedicated to equipping high school student-athletes with the knowledge and tools to "Sweat 'n Thrive" at the next level in sports and life.
